Parish Council meeting minutes, March 2017

Meeting of the Parish Council held on Thursday,  Thursday, 9th March 2017 at  8 p.m. in Ruckinge Village Hall.


Cllr. S. Denis in the Chair, Cllrs.  P. Sillibourne,  A. Beaney, Mrs T. Cliffe-Harrison and the Clerk, Mrs  M. Shaw.      .


Cllrs. Mrs. F. Burt, Mrs. M. Hills and D. Guy (all business commitments).


Cllr. A. Beaney, OSI, on Fairview Industrial Estate.


The minutes of the previous meeting had been circulated, these were approved after the replacement of “Ashford Signwriters” with “Medash Signs.”

Matters Arising

Sewage problems, Bromley Green Road -  nothing further.

Ashford Borough Council, Litter and Dog bin survey - nothing further.

16/00246/AS  Dei Gratia, Bromley Green Road, Ruckinge.Proposed replacement dwelling including detached garage. This was supported in principle but are very concerned about the environmental aspects of the site, protected species, the drainage issues, are there any T.P.O.s on the site etc?

17/00324/AS  Blue Anchor, Hamstreet Road, Ruckinge Change of use and conversion of part of ground floor from office to residential flat and  associated garden and parking.
No decision made until the plans in “hardcopy” are received.

Fairview Industrial Estate

Cllr. A. Beaney listed the contraventions, it was agreed to forward these to the Ashford Borough Council Enforcement Officer to pursue officially.

Carters Field

Cllr. P. Sillibourne has planted 14 trees.  He reported that the fence has been damaged again and requires considerable repair.

Securing of the Picnic Tables was discussed.

Cherry Tree Paddock

Appeal – nothing further.

Highways & Byways

Speeding Signs” the sighting proposed to be near to Turves Farm is causing legal problems.

Dimon Hill access -  a Councillor had been approached by the owner who has received a letter from Ashford Borough advising that a planning application is required.

Village Hall

A further quotation for a new boiler had been received by the Hall Committee, another is awaited.

Village Protection Plan

A Borough Council grant application form had been submitted. Nothing further at the present time.

Borough Councillors

Apologies from Cllr. Miss J. Martin.   A Councillor is to contact her regarding her recent  Email, with the Parish Council comments relating to this.

Street Light

It was anticipated that the light would be reinstated in the vicinity of the Flag Pole near the Church on 22nd February, but it had not been done yet. Chairman to investigate.

Footpath Warden

Nothing further on this.

This was agreed for Thursday, 13th April 2017 at 8.00 p.m. in Bromley Green Village Hall.

There being no further business the Chairman declared the meeting closed at 9.50 p.m.
