Parish Council meeting minutes, December 2017
Minutes of the Meeting of the Parish Council held on Thursday, 14th December 2017 at 8 p.m. in Ruckinge Village Hall.

The minutes of the November meeting have been held-over for distribution and approval at the next meeting in February.
Sewage problems, Bromley Green Road: Borough Councillor Martin provided an explanation from Southern Water on the recent problems with the pumping station. Further remedial work is being planned – a full update will be given to the next meeting.
There was none.
Ashford Local Plan
It was decided to pay the first instalment of the ‘Peter Brett and Associates’ (PBA) invoice for consultancy work to re-present the Village Protection Plan to the Inspectorate of the Ashford Local Plan. Payment will be made from funds already received and allocated. Borough Councillor Jane Martin has requested that the balancing payment be made via a Ward Member Grant from her allocation. The Parish Council agreed to administer payment, made on behalf of Saxon Shore Parishes, provided the written agreement is provided to the Clerk to the Parish.
No change from the Treasurers Account as at 30th October 2017: £18,929–03.
2018/19 Budget: A precept of £10,000.00 was agreed.
The Chairman will write to the Chairman of the Bromley Green Village Hall Committee to request information about how monies from their annual donation are disbursed.
Summary of applications assessed:
17/01824/AS- Ashwell Lodge, Bromley Green Road, TN26 2EQ. Erection of a garage building with a home office above. Comment: Not supported.
17/01804/AS - Ardenleigh, Bromley Green Road, TN26 2EF- Reconstruction of existing garage/outbuilding to form office/studio including replacement roof (revised construction to planning permission references 16/01875/AS &; 16/01875/AMND/AS). Comment: Supported.
17/01662/AS - Dei Gratia, Bromley Green Road, TN26 2EF - Variation of condition 9 on planning permission reference 17/00246/AS to allow an amendment to increase size of garage to add enclosing workshop. Comment: Not supported.
Fairview Industrial Estate
Cllr. Mrs. T. Cliffe-Harrison will proceed with the “Tesco Funding Scheme” application.
Highways & Byways
Byways – Gill Lane (AE566) and Hog Tub (AE563). Winter closure signage and barriers have been installed by Public Right of Way (PROW). This action now completes the Prohibition of Traffic order on the 2 Byways.
The Parish Council has obtained three quotes for resurfacing the Village Hall entrance and car park. The Chairman will contact the Committee Chairman to request a share of the cost.

Items of Interest
The Chairman has asked for a formal letter of resignation from Mrs Hills. On confirmation of receipt, it was agreed that councillors could canvass informally for a replacement.
