Parish Council meeting minutes, September 2018
Minutes of the Meeting of the Parish Council held on Thursday, 13th September 2018 at 8 p.m. in Bromley Green Hall.
Present
Cllr. S. Denis in the Chair, Cllrs. D. Guy, A. Beaney, P. Sillibourne, J. Reid and the Clerk, Mrs. M. Shaw.
Apologies
Cllrs. Mrs. F. Burt, Mrs. T. Cliffe-Harrison.
Declarations
There were none.
Minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting had been circulated and were agreed as correct.
Matters Arising
Sewage problems, Bromley Green Road - nothing further.
Co-option
Mr. Jeremy Reid was proposed by Cllr. A. Beaney, seconded by Cllr. D. Guy and unanimously elected to the Council. Mr. Reid then signed his “Declaration of Acceptance of Office” which was duly witnessed by the Proper Officer of the Council.
The Chairman welcomed him to the Council.

Treasurers Account as at 31st August 2018 £ 15,202 - 30

The Clerk had circulated her expenses book, which was checked and agreed.
Cheques were drawn:
Mrs. M. Shaw, Clerks Salary, 1st July to 30th September 2018 less P.A.Y.E. £ 886 – 40.
Mrs. M. Shaw, Expenses (1st April 2018 to 30th September 2018) £ 287 - 31.

Ashford Local Plan
Public consultation notification received from 13th September to 26th October 2018.
Planning
18/1134/AS The Chestnuts, Stone Cross Road, Ruckinge. Proposed replacement detached garage. The application was supported.
Approval received: 18/0960/AS Longacres, Bromley Green Road, Rucking, Proposed detached garage (revision to fenestration design on garage approved under 17/01340/AS)
Fairview Industrial Estate
Nothing further,but site to be monitored
Carters Field
Fencing – left in abeyance.
The gate, Chain and Padlock – following replacement these have been tampered with yet again, and one key had been found from the vandalised key safe, but the other was missing.
It was agreed that a gate key be given to Cllr. P. Sillibourne and one retained by the Chairman.
The misuse by the “Trotting ponies” has ceased from previous usage.
Picnic Table plaques – these have been positioned.
Dog Training – nothing further on the agreement.
“Super market” funding – nothing further.
The Ragwort has been sprayed.
It was agreed that the Bromley Green Residents Association be asked to mow around the play area and picnic tables.
Bromley Green Hall
The Chairman had been given a key to the hall by Mr. Mark Nash.
The condition of the car park still requires road planeings, Cllr. P. Sillibourne will remind the supplier.
Highways & Byways
Cllr. D. Guy had inspected the AE550 gate onto the A2070 road and photographs will be sent to Graham Rusling, PROW Officer.
Concern was expressed about overgrown hedges along Ash Hill and Dimon Hill –
Clerk to forward “Highways letter” to Cllr. A. Beaney for circulation to offending owner/s.
Various drains and gullies to be reported to Highways again.
It was suggested that a mirror by positioned at Bromley Green Road/Hornash Lane Crossroads – Highways to be contacted to ascertain if this is now permitted.
Village Hall
No suggestions (for capital expediture) were forthcoming from Mr. Bridge.
Discussion took place on improvements to the facilities for the hall, the possibility of new chairs and tables were mentioned. To be reviewed at the next meeting.
Items of interest
It was agreed to investigate with Highways the “Gateways” which are being positioned in several nearby villages at their entrances.

There being no further business the Chairman declared the meeting closed at 9.25 p.m.
